Wholesum is actively looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our supply chain team. As a Logistics Specialist you will be responsible to help arrange transport of our fresh organic veggies to our hungry customers across the United States. This role will work with warehouse operations, replenishment and sales team, to coordinate customer orders from the farms to our distribution center in Nogales AZ and onward to our customers distribution centers (DC’s) across the USA in the most efficient and environmentally friendly as possible.

Primary Responsibilities

As the Logistics Specialist at Wholesum, you will coordinate daily shipments from our Nogales, AZ distribution center and farms in Mexico and the USA to customer facilities. Using our advanced Transportation Management System (TMS), you’ll manage carriers, optimize loads, and control costs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily shipments from our distribution center in Nogales AZ, and farms in Mexico and USA to our customers DC’s facilities. Using our brand-new Transportation Management System (TMS) to electronically communicate with carriers, build loads and manage cost.
  • Select and develop carriers and 3rd party Logistics (3PL’s) partners, brokers and cross dock service providers, ensuring on-time and cost-effective delivery of our fresh organic veggies.
  • Analyze cost of routes to find efficiencies reduce cost per lbs. delivered to customers and improve on time arrivals.
  • Constant improvement in building efficient loads, reducing miles per routes to reduce our carbon footprint.
  • Build relationships with teams in sales, warehouse operations, growers and replenishment.

Minimum Experience/Qualifications

  • Bilingual ( English and Spanish )
  • 1-2 years of experience working in transportation or a related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred), or equivalent industry experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented to ensure information accuracy
  • Skills to analyze complex situations
  • Experience with MS office and related applications
  • Experience with Transportation Management software or ERP’s
  • Experience working in Food Distribution, Fresh Produce or related fields
