Primary Responsibilities

The Marketing Coordinator plays a pivotal role in executing various marketing initiatives. We seek an individual who embodies the essence of a dependable self-starter, capable of taking initiatives and driving projects forward. The ideal candidate should possess the intrinsic ability to work with minimal supervision, displaying strong reliability and consistency in delivering high-quality work. The Marketing Coordinator position is a full time, onsite role that will support the objectives of the department in the following areas:

Packaging Design Program:

  • Communicate packaging artwork requirements to graphic designers and printers.
  • Responsible for addressing packaging requests from growers while ensuring packaging design consistency with brand standards and regulatory requirements of certifiers and government agencies.
  • Assist with new packaging projects by communicating needs and coordinating with packaging vendors.

Event Coordination:

  • Coordinate events including trade shows, customer and vendor visits to our facilities, annual strategy meetings, volunteer projects and other opportunities based on team objectives.
  • Responsible for preparing itineraries and booking activities, seeking quotes and securing vendors for supporting materials as well as arranging transportation, lodging and meals.
  • Ensure overall smooth flow of event execution.

Digital Marketing:

  • Assist with upkeep of digital assets as well as campaign set-up and tracking on relevant platforms.
  • Keep informed of new digital marketing opportunities, guidelines and requirements.

Content Creation:

  • Responsible for social media content creation and scheduling based on company editorial calendar utilizing brand assets and photography.
  • Write copy and proofread marketing materials.
  • Coordinate product shoots with photographers and external content creators.
  • Collaborate on idea generation through brainstorming sessions for new packaging options, marketing campaigns, product names, social media posts, and other creative tasks.

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the marketing department by responding to emails, messages sent via social media platforms and website submissions via Word Press.
  • Responsible for task planning, notetaking, updating vendor and media spreadsheets and periodic housekeeping of content libraries.
  • Keep up to date and informed on top trends in produce industry and produce packaging.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner during company events, meetings, seminars and trainings.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Company Travel

This position requires work travel including some weekends. Coordinator must always be available while traveling and must have an agenda ready to execute. Coordinator must direct themselves professionally while representing the company. This position is expected to travel approximately 25% of the time including to trade shows, store openings/sampling events and to other work sites. Largest travel months are January, July and October.

Minimum Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree – preferably in a business or liberal arts discipline such as Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, or Media Arts.
  • Bilingual (100% English proficiency & conversational Spanish).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with creative flair.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Good understanding of digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to adapt to shifting priorities and new opportunities.
  • Need to have a passport for travel to and from Mexico.
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a team and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with design software and/or marketing platforms such as Hootsuite, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Adwords, Canva and WordPress.
  • Strong written communication in Spanish.
  • Good research skills such as seeking out credible data, checking source qualifications; understanding of distinct research methods rooted in social science.
  • Experience in creative work such as photography, video production and graphic design.
