Primary Responsibilities

The People in Culture Specialist involves overseeing the comprehensive spectrum of HR functions and strategies essential for maintaining a productive and compliant work environment. This encompasses the management of talent acquisition strategies, administration of employee benefits programs, configuration of HR systems, coordination of incentive programs, compliance with Fair-Trade certifications, support for year-end compliance, handling labor relations and grievances, managing performance evaluations, maintaining employee records, overseeing workers’ compensation, organizing company events, guiding policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance, managing internal communications, fostering employee engagement, and offering advisory and coaching support to enhance effective leadership and team management.

Minimum Experience/Qualifications

  • 3 years in Human Resources and/or a college degree with HR and/or Benefit Administration focus.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and prioritization skills; outstanding attention to detail.
  • Exceptional people engagement and support orientation, and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • High degree of professionalism and proven ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively and with the established deadline.
  • Ability to be flexible and agile in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; clear, direct, and respectful communication.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and strong PC skills, including proficiency with Excel.
  • Strong aptitude and desire to implement and manage organization-wide processes and systems, identifying inefficiencies, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.
