The world today should be nourished through healthy, fresh, organic foods that are grown the right way.
When food is grown right, it is uplifting for people and the planet.
People should have access to healthy, delicious food that they can feel good about eating.
Growing organically is both our passion and responsibility to the people and the planet. We guarantee that our produce is safe. It is 100% free of any unsafe, synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals. When your produce has no harmful products used throughout the growing process, it tastes better.
By the time the organic movement in the United States began to gain momentum, Wholesum was already ahead of the curve growing only 100% USDA certified organic produce, procuring organic seeds and growing in state-of-the-art greenhouses. With a mission to grow organic produce for people’s wellbeing, our organic repertoire today includes a fine selection of tomatoes, cucumber, bell peppers, eggplant, squash and greens.
We take care of our people, and we’re passionate about doing what’s right. Being Fair Trade Certified truly reflects the values engrained in the heart of the Wholesum family, values that transcend through the supply chain. In 2016, witnessing the success of Fair Trade on the two family farms in Mexico, we decided to echo those impacts north of the border, becoming the first Fair Trade Certified farm in the US.
In 2022, we surpassed over $9 million in Fair Trade Community Development Funds. With the funds generated from Fair Trade purchases, workers implement impactful community projects. They address needs such as education, health care and housing. Worker empowerment, improved wellbeing and community spirit, and a more positive outlook towards the future were among the most remarkable impacts of the program.
Because we’re Fair Trade Certified, you can trust that those who grew the food you’re eating are treated equitably and that they are empowered.
Leaving the world better than we found it is of the utmost importance to us. We prioritize water conservation in our greenhouse operations, and we reuse any water that might find its way to our greenhouse floors. Our dedication to protecting the earth’s natural resources translates to efforts ranging from water recirculation and using renewable energy sources, to diverting recyclables from landfills and restoring local ecosystems.
We use the latest technology available to ensure that we are growing sustainably.
As a multi-generational family farm with decades of expertise, we only grow what we would feed to our own families. When you see the Wholesum logo, you’re seeing three generations of honest, safe, delicious produce that was Grown for Good.
