Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This role supports the Logistics Supervisor by coordinating daily transportation activities to ensure the timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of fresh produce to our customers. The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in managing transportation schedules, coordinating carriers, and monitoring shipments to ensure service expectations are met.

Primary Responsibilities

Transportation & Route Coordination:
Coordinate daily truck routes, shipment schedules, delivery appointments, and transportation capacity to ensure products are delivered on time and in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Monitor shipments from origin to final destination and proactively address potential delays or service disruptions.

Carrier & Vendor Management:
Maintain strong working relationships with transportation providers and vendors through consistent communication. Coordinate carrier assignments, resolve transportation issues, and manage unexpected events such as cancellations, delays, or in-route mechanical issues while ensuring minimal impact to operations.

Transportation Management System (TMS):
Manage load registration, carrier assignments, shipment documentation, and transportation updates within the TMS. Monitor transportation issues that may impact costs, service levels, or routing, and communicate concerns to the Logistics Supervisor. Ensure timely and accurate documentation is provided to carriers, support TMS enhancements, and review proof of delivery (POD) documentation and vendor invoices, including accessorial charges, for accuracy.

Performance Monitoring:
Track key transportation metrics, including on-time delivery, order fulfillment, carrier performance, and transportation costs. Monitor shipment issues, communicate updates to the Sales team, and support proactive resolution of transportation challenges.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration:
Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes, service levels, and vendor relationships. Participate in weekly coordination meetings with the Enterprise Sales Team and provide support in the absence of the Logistics Supervisor.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen carrier relationships. Take a proactive approach to resolving logistics challenges while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

General Support:
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support the success of the logistics team and overall business operations. Availability to provide after-hours or weekend support as business needs require.

Minimum Experience/Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field, or 1–2 years of experience in transportation, logistics coordination, or a related role
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), preferably TLX or similar software
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with carriers, vendors, and team members
  • Ability to use sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work non-business hours and weekends as business needs require
  • This is an on-site position based in Amado, AZ

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the produce, agriculture, food distribution, or transportation industry
  • Experience coordinating truckload (TL) or refrigerated transportation
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), preferably TLX
  • Experience tracking transportation metrics and preparing operational reports
  • Knowledge of carrier management, routing, and delivery scheduling
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify process improvements and increase operational efficiency
